I think everyone goes into the DPRK with some sort of image in their
head as to how it's going to be. And then that image is subsequently
turned upside down on arrival. The first thing you notice about DPRK
Tours is that you are amongst a group of young and like-minded people,
both with the Western guides and the other members of the group. I was
expecting a serious, regimental and overly-restricted tour, and while
not much can be done about the country's restrictions, DPRK Tours makes
the experience surprisingly fun and uses their popularity amongst the
Korean guides to squeeze a bit more out of the official itinerary,
which, considering they're one of the cheapest tours around is great
value. We even went to the only club in Pyongyang! I don't imagine many
tourists can say that...
